Metrology and inspection

Inspection covers the dimensional measurement of inserts, tools and first-article parts, so that a part is compared against the drawing rather than against the last part that ran.

At the tool

Inserts and sliders are measured during machining and again at assembly.

At the part

First-article and dimensional reports are issued with the trial samples.

Tolerances, tool sizes and cycle figures are pending confirmation from the factory.
